Broken honeycomb inside catalytic converter
Audi A4 1.9 TDI Catalytic Converter
The honeycomb inside the catalytic converter is broken (it is possible to hear this as it is rattling).
When the honeycomb breaks up, it can, in severe cases, block the exit for the exhaust gases and cause the engine to cut out .
The harmful exhaust gases are not reduced by the worn-out catalytic converter.
